Inter School Cricket: KV Upper Shillong, Fairyland ease to wins

SHILLONG: K.V. Upper Shillong defeated B.K. Bajoria School by 7 wickets while Fairyland High School beat Tender Child Secondary School by 60 runs in the U-18 senior category league matches of the Inter School Cricket Tournament here on Monday. Put into bat first, B.K. Bajoria were bowled out for a paltry score of 57 in 11.3 overs with Akash Kumar claiming 5 wickets and Rishab Pandey getting 3. Chasing a modest total, K.V. Upper Shillong made 58/3 in 12 overs with contribution of 22 runs by Deebakar Bhaishya. In the second match, Fairyland batted first a compiled 176/10 in 25 overs. Kausar Ali made 31 runs while Sahil Gupta scored 27. Pankaj Kumar Shah claimed 3 wickets. In their chase, Tender Child lost all their wickets with the score reading 116 in 24 overs. Pankaj Kumar Shah played a valiant knock of 60 runs that included 9 boundaries. Avinash Karki was the most successful bowler for fairyland picking up 3 wickets.
