SHILLONG: Meghalaya beat Goa 3-0 in their last league match of the U-14 Sub Junior National Football Tournament in Kozhikode, Kerala on Monday. Meghalaya, who have already qualified for the semi-final needed just a draw to top their group and the boys did well to gather full points from the tie even though a few key players were rested. A determined Goa, who needed a point to qualify for the last four, made the opponents sweat early on. However, Meghalaya secured the breakthrough in the 30th minute when Glennys Lynrah tapped one home assisted by Lastborn Mawphniang. Barely 10 minutes later, Lynrah scored again to double the lead before halftime. Meghalaya added a third goal in the 86th minute through the boots of Benjamin Diengdoh.
