Art Mela orgainsed as part of Indira Gandhi’s birth centenary celebrations

NONGPOH: Commemorating the year-long birth centenary celebration of India’s first women prime minister Indira Gandhi, the Nongpoh Assembly Youth Congress on Wednesday organised an Art Mela titled “Maa Tujhe Salaam” at the scenic Marngar Lake.
On the occasion, a drawing & painting competition under the theme, “Preservation of Environment and Wildlife” was organized for secondary level students of the area.
President of Shillong Lok Sabha Youth Congress, Kyrshan Pamshong was the chief guest on the occasion while Ri Bhoi District Youth Congress president, Rajesh Lapang was the guest of honour. The programme was also attended by leaders of the youth Congress from both the District and Nongpoh Assembly.
Cash prizes and certificates of recognition were awarded to the winners of the competition by the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively.
