SHILLONG: The SSA and 4th teachers of Jaintia Hills will hold a general meeting on Saturday to discuss the demands of the Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA).
In a statement, MSSASA general secretary Kyllimot Lhuid said the meeting will be based on a report by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan-State Education Mission Authority of Meghalaya (SSA-SEMAM).
The report enumerates the various demands of MSSASA, which included revised pay for 12,481 SSA teachers and payment of arrears due from last April.
Besides, delayed hike in salary of 1,521 4th teachers pending since 2013, results of the diploma teachers’ training course, relaxation of revised pay of untrained teachers in 2017-18 and training of the remaining SSA and 4th teachers will also be discussed.
The meeting will be held at 11am at the District Library Auditorium in Jowai.
