Call to keep Jowai town clean

JOWAI: The Chief Executive Officer of the Jowai Municipal Board (JMB) has appealed to the residents of Jowai town to join hands with the board in keeping the town clean.
The JMB requested residents to segregate biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes in their households before disposing them.
“We also request the citizens not to litter the roads, or throw garbage in the open, drains and water bodies and to avoid urinating or defecating in the open,” JMB chief SC laloo said adding that burning of garbage in the open will attract a fine of Rs 5000.
The Chief Executive Officer also instructed all shopkeepers to ensure that the area within 5 metres from their shops, establishments is free from garbage and litter.
