SHILLONG: KHNAM youth wing which is pursuing the case of jugalis, has targeted the Congress led MUA-II by saying that the youths waiting for jobs will be compelled to boycott the Congress in next year’s Assembly polls.
KHNAM youth wing president Thomas Passah said after a meeting that while 290 jugalis were appointed till date, almost 500 candidates are waiting for their appointments as validity period of the merit list will be till August.
Police verification is cited as the reason for the delay in the appointments. The MeECL had declared a total of 772 candidates as successful for the posts of jugalis.
Setting a deadline till May 15, KHNAM wanted the MeECL to appoint those jugalis whose police verification has been completed.
