SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Mines Owners and Exporters Association (MMOEA) on Monday said that due to bad condition of the road from Nongjri to Borsora Land Custom Station, Third Mile to Borsora and from Nongjri to Bakli Land Custom Station, the exporters will not be able to meet the May 30 deadline set by the Supreme Court to complete transportation of extracted coal.
MMOEA has urged the authorities concerned to consider extension of the deadline. MMOEA president Julius C Diengngan has urged local MLA Martin M Danggo, who is also the PWD Minister, to take steps to repair the road so that the exporters can transport the extracted coal before the time set by the Supreme Court.
