Govt issues work order for Aadhaar

SHILLONG: The State Government on Monday issued work order for Aadhaar enrollment.
Additional Chief Secretary P.W Ingty, who is dealing with the matter, said the work order was issued to Avvas Infotech Private Limited.
The firm will tie up with the East Khasi Hills deputy commissioner to start enrollment.
He said the process will start this month.
Ingty said details of the National Population Register (NPR) will be considered before enrollment. However, applicants who are not under NPR can produce other documents, including EPIC, for getting Aadhaar number.
The firm will charge Rs 39-40 per enrollment and the Centre had already provided fund for the project.
