Minor girl’s body recovered in WKH

SHILLONG: West Khasi Hills Police on Sunday recovered the body of a 13-year-old girl from a village in Shallang.
The body of the minor was recovered from Doranggre village under Shallang Police Station.
According to Police, the girl had gone missing on April 29. Police are yet to ascertain whether the girl was raped and murdered.
Police arrested 24-year-old Probit R Marak in connection with the crime.
This is the second such incident in the district in the last two months. Earlier, in March people had taken to the streets to protest the murder of Daritngen Syiem whose decomposed body was found buried in the sand near Umpniang river.
