SHILLONG: The Seng Samla Shnong Tynring, a youth body from Tynring village in East Khasi Hills, has demanded the Sordar of Shnat Raid Tynring Khyrim Syiemship to immediately convene a public meeting to address various issues of the village.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Bapynbiang Nongspung of the Seng Samla Shnong Tynring said the Sordar, C. Aikom Diengdoh did not convene a public meeting to seek the opinion of the locals to hold a Synod in the area.
He alleged that trees were cut at Raid Tynring (Lumswai) to make space for the assembly of faithful.
“We were not informed about this development. The Sordar Shnong has abused his power as he did not seek people’s opinion on the issue,” he said.
