SHILLONG: Residents of ten villages of North Garo Hills have petitioned the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to include them under Bajengdoba Assembly constituency also under North Garo Hills as they are currently tagged with West Garo Hills.
The villagers brought before the notice of the chief minister the irony of their two polling booths being tagged to West Garo Hills whereas they are close to Bajengdoba Block.
In a memorandum submitted to the chief minister recently, the residents of the ten villages who are currently under the administrative jurisdiction of Resubelpara Block said that during the delimitation process, two polling stations from the concerned villages were tagged to Raksamgre constituency under Dadenggre Sub Division, West Garo Hills without taking the people into confidence.
The residents said that they are facing multiple problems and Government should act on the matter.
