Theft
Col. Manoj Kumar of Pine Walk area, Shillong lodged a complaint that between August 2016 and March 2017, household articles valued around Rs. 68,100 were found missing from his residence. One Roben Das who was working in the complainant’s office was told by the complainant to keep the items in the garage near his official quarter, but could not give any explanation as to how the items went missing.
Trouble maker’ arrested
Police has arrested one person for creating nuisance and roaming around a hostel in the city. Athisa Phimu, warden, Lydia Hall Hostel, Bomfyle Road, Laitumkhrah lodged a complaint that on May 3, one Tenny Dkhar (40) was apprehended while he was creating nuisance and roaming around the hostel in a suspicious manner. Earlier, on April 27 around 10.30 pm, the accused was caught peeping through the gate of the hostel and taking pictures.
Illegal transportation
Police intercepted one Bolero pik-up transporting stone chips without valid documents in South West Garo Hills. On May 2, Police intercepted the vehicle (ML-08E-0161) driven by Rahimuddin Mollah from Monabari and handed over the same to DFO, Territorial Division SWGH.
Accidents
On May 4 morning, one tourist cab (ML-05P-1751) driven by Livingstone Syiem (30) plunged into a gorge at Mawiong. As a result, the driver sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.
On May 3, an unknown vehicle knocked down Beterwell Tariang (45) at Mawlai Iewrynghep. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to a city hospital.
On May 3, one Hyundai Santro car (AS-01DD-1256) driven by Tingker Haloi (28) knocked down Prodip Deka (24) at Nongpoh. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong. Police detained the driver along with the vehicle.
On May 2 around 12.45 am, one vehicle (AS-01HC-3342) knocked down a girl Pyrkhat Sanibha Rymbai at Mookhep, NH-44 (EJH). Victim sustained injuries.
NGT ban violation
B.J Kharshandi, Executive Magistrate, Jowai lodged a complaint that on May 3, he along with police detected one Md. Manir Ahmed washing his vehicle (AS-01HC-6209) at Tre Iongriang junction, Myntdu Bridge in violation of NGT order.
