SHILLONG: The government is likely to start enrolling names for the Megha Health Insurance Scheme-3 next month following the Centre’s go-ahead.
Last month, the government signed an agreement with New India Assurance Company Limited, a general insurance firm, for Phase-3 of the health cover scheme.
The scheme is based on the Centre’s Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana with a cover of up to Rs 2,80,000 and an additional Rs 30,000 for senior citizens.
Beneficiaries can opt for free super-specialty treatment, advanced diagnostics, comprehensive outpatient services for pregnant women and children and long-term consultation and treatment for lifestyle diseases under the scheme.
