Prohibition
The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division, has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC restricting movement of trucks along the Sohra-Shillong road from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. MCCL trucks have been exempted from the restriction.
District Contact Centre
The office of the DC (Election), West Khasi Hills, has established the District Contact Centre which shall operate from Room No. 60 of the office and provide seamless interface and quality service to citizens and stakeholders on election matters.
Naga Day
Naga Elders’ Forum, Shillong will organise the Naga Day cum Cultural Extravaganza 2017 in collaboration with the NEC and ICCR at U Soso Tham Auditorium at 10.30 am on May 6 . Pianist Nise Meruno, Tetseo Sisters, Abiogenesis and others will perform on the occasion.
Condolence
The Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions & Associations, the apex body of all Trade Unions and Associations of the State has condoled the sudden demise of one of the vice presidents of the Joint Council, Com. Wallam Sohtun who breathed his last on May 3. Sohtun was a prominent trade union leader.
