TURA: The alleged attempt by the managing committee of the Janapriya Higher Secondary School at Bholarbhita to recruit the son of its president to the post of assistant teacher is being strongly opposed by parents and guardians.
The parents have sent a letter to the District School Education Officerwhere they informed that Motiar Islam, an assistant teacher, is being promoted to the post of Vice Principal to make way for the appointment of Shahid Abdullah, the son of the SMC president. “Islam’s promotion is illegal as per the HC order. Besides, the post left vacant is for Arts graduate as there are already three Bio BSC Teachers having PCM combination. An Arts graduate having honours in English is the present requirement of the school,” the parents stated. Earlier, the managing committee had put out an advertisement in a local newspaper inviting applications from Science graduates with honours in Botany and a B Ed certificate.
Claiming that the advertisement is nothing but a plan to absorb the son of the SMC President, the parents demanded to put a stop to the appointment as well as the cancellation of the promotion order issued to Motiar Islam.
