SHILLONG: A 17-year-old girl was gang-raped in a village in West Khasi Hills on May 7.
According to police, the victim was dragged into an auto rickshaw and later raped by the accused in a forest.
Three people– Raplang Kharmuti, Johny Warjri and Tony Basaiawmoit, have been arrested in this connection.
One of the accused, Raplang Kharmuti was known to the victim.
Kharmuti, according to reports, is the husband of a friend of the victim.
Meanwhile, the girl was hospitalised after the incident and released after medical treatment.
