KSU slams Ri Bhoi DC for ‘ignoring plight of border residents’

SHILLONG: KSU central body president Lambokstarwell Marngar has slammed Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner GP Gotmare for being preoccupied with removing hurdles for the railway project while ignoring the plight of the residents of the district residing at the Assam-Meghalaya border.
“The DC is least bothered about the welfare the border residents who are harassed regularly. He (the DC) is acting as agent facilitating railway work,” Marngar alleged.
Marngar also slammed Gotmare for claiming that KSU members met him over the railway issue “The KSU never called on the DC on the issue,” he said. The KSU also reiterated it’s opposition to the railway project till the time the issue of influx is not addressed.
