SHILLONG: Relatives of a physically challenged minor rape victim from Pynursla have refused to accept a compromise deal offered by the accused.
The girl’s mother, along with the Para Legal Volunteers (PLV), told Sohra police that  they do not want to compromise because the family was continuously harassed by a group of people since the girl was raped on October 2, 2012.
The mother also alleged that some miscreants have torched the house of the victim’s elder sister and the family is living in fear.
She said her family expected the accused to be reformed after coming out of jail, but he continued to harass them prompting the victim’s family to file another FIR on April 18.
The village Dorbar has barred the family from attending meetings, the woman alleged.
A para legal volunteer has assisted the family to get justice.
