SHILLONG: The State Government last week approved the Budget for three months for the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
On April 4, the Governor had ordered administrator’s rule after the executive committee led by NPP collapsed when CEM Denang Sangma resigned.
The resignation came after the House passed the controversial Garo Customary Bill, which restricts the definition of Garo to a person born of purely Garo parents.
An official with the District Council Affairs Department said after the Government approved the GHADC budget for three months, the release of the funds through the administrator, Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills Cyril Diengdoh, is being examined by the planning and the finance departments.
