Assam Rifles nabs two NSCN-IM cadres in Nagaland

Kohima: The personnel of Assam Rifles apprehended two NSCN-IM cadres in two separate incidents in two locations of Dimapur.
According to a release issued by Lt. Col. Amitabh Sharma, the PRO of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North), informed that based on specific information regarding presence of an arms dealer, 32 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) alongwith police launched an operation in general area Nutan Basti area of Dimapur on Saturday last.  During the search, they recovered one point 22 mm rifle with magazine, 17 live rounds of point 22 mm and three booklets of extortion cash book from an individual, aged 48 years, a resident of Nutan Basti in Dimapur District. The individual revealed that he holds rank of joint secretary in NSCN (IM) faction. He was handed over to West Police Station of Dimapur for further investigation.
In a separate incident the Assam Rifles alongwith police representatives  launched an operation in general area Purana Bazar, Dimapur on Saturday last.  They recovered four illegal 12 bore rifles from an individual aged 44 years, resident of Purana Bazar area of Dimapur town. (UNI)
