Tripura puts better cyber security
Agartala: Minister for Information Technology Tapan Chakraborty on Wednesday said higher security protocols need to be put in place to make sure that IT-based industries were safe in the era of cyber hacking and threats.
The lifestyle and living standards of common people would develop with the advent of modern technology.
The IT Department has taken initiative to expand Wi-Fi network facility in the state, he stated. The minister, however, pointed out at the recent ransomware ‘WannaCry’ attacks and said there was potential of risks. But better security protocols have been put in place to ensure safety in the state. (UNI)
Tripura varsity VC in a spat
Agartala:The faculty members of Tripura (Central) university sought action from Ministry of Human Resource Development, UGC and Governor of Tripura to cancel the appointment process of teachers in various department alleging that adoption of unfair means by Vice Chancellor Prof A K Ghosh.
The faculty members have been demonstrating against the VC for past few months demanding to stop corrupt practices and sought his involvement in restoring the academic atmosphere in the university. They alleged that theVC was liable for a fraud of Rs 10 crore for purchasing e-books for the University library without any tender as well as recommendation from constituent departments. (UNI)
