Traditional music workshop in Garo Hills

Tura: A week-long workshop on crafting of traditional musical instruments and playing techniques was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Multi Facility Centre, Selsella Block. The workshop is being organised by the Arts and Culture department to promote and preserve the traditional art forms.
The workshop which began on Tuesday will continue till May 20.
Experts will instruct the participants in various Garo traditional musical instruments in the weeklong programme.
Forest and Environment minister and local MLA, Clement Marak inaugurated the workshop in the presence of officials from the Arts and Culture department, students and village elders.
