Girl abducted, sexually abused
A 14-year-old girl was sexually abused after two persons abducted her. Police said that on May 11 evening, two persons– Dapborlin Mawlong and Boklang Mawsor of Umdang village, abducted the minor girl in a vehicle (ML-05J-4955) from Riangdo to Wahblei. The accused forced the girl to consume intoxicants and sexually abused her.

Tourist’s cycle stolen
Varun Pitkar, a tourist from Mumbai lodged a complaint that on May 15 around 7.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole a professional cycle from Home Stay at Khliehshnong, Sohra. The stolen cycle was hired by the complainant from Shillong.

Labourers dead
On May 14 around 9.30 am, a boulder fell on one Sandeep Koch (25), while he was working at a road construction project on Bakdagre-Purakhasia road in West Garo Hills. He died on the spot.
A worker identified as Samar Debnath fell from the stairs and sustained injuries. The worker was given first aid and shifted to CHC Khliehriat, where he was declared brought dead.

Two arrested for extracting coal
Police apprehended two persons for extracting coal from a quarry in East Jaintia Hills. On May 13 around 2 pm, Police conducted mining raid at Umthe area and apprehended two persons– Medela Basumatary (30) and Muniram Ustar (36), while they were extracting coal from a quarry.

FCI rice siphoned
On the night of May 15, one truck (AS-01DD-9874) loaded with rice was moving suspiciously in Dakopgre area in West Garo Hills. Following this, Police raided a warehouse at Burny Hills, Tura and found that 420 bags of rice which were loaded from FCI, Tura were being unloaded in the go down of one Raja Ram of Tura Bazar.
