Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday expressed shock over the sudden and untimely demise of Union Environment minister Anil Madhav Dave.
“Dave will be remembered for his zest for planning, promoting, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of environmental and forestry programmes in the country.
His passion towards conservation and survey of flora and fauna of India, forests and other wilderness areas, prevention and control of pollution, afforestation, and land degradation mitigation will always be a hallmark of his contribution towards a green, healthy and carbon sink nation,” the chief minister said.
“At this moment of grief, me, my family, colleagues in the government and people of Arunachal Pradesh extend our solidarity with the country for losing a great leader and convey our deepest condolences.
“The vacuum that has been created by Dave’s demise will remain for long. I pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace”, Khandu said. Dave, a long-time RSS member best known for crafting the BJP strategy to unseat Congress stalwart Digvijay Singh as Madhya Pradesh chief minister in 2003, died at New Delhi. (PTI)
