SHILLONG: The Congress has yet again come under attack for the statement of Cabinet Minister Zenith Sangma that the BJP will resort to money power in the Assembly polls.
Earlier, the statement of Sangma against BJP on the use of money power had evoked criticism from party president Shibun Lyngdoh.
Following this, the former MLA, K C Boro, who is the president of BJP’s Kisan Morcha said on Sunday that the stand of Sangma reflects his poor mindset and that of the party.
“A guilty mind is always suspicious. Zenith Sangma thinks that like the Congress party which is known to be using money power, the BJP is also pursuing the same path like a blind man who thinks that others are also blind,” Boro said.
Reiterating that it is the Congress which is indulging in money power and not the BJP, the former MLA said, “We do not have money power. We have Modi-power. We also have Himanta-power as the Assam Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma is considered as the Modi of the Northeast”.
According to Boro, the party’s confidence coupled with public support will ensure victory for BJP, while the fact remains that the Congress candidates have already started pouring in money to get elected.
