SHILLONG: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will field candidates from all the five constituencies in Ri Bhoi district for the 2018 Assembly elections, sources said.
It is also learnt that BJP will field candidates from all the 60 constituencies of the State.
In a press statement, C.G.R Syngkli, president of BJP youth wing from Ri Bhoi, said preparations for the elections are in full swing with the formation of booth level committees in all five constituencies.
Syngkli said the ‘Modi wave’ has swept the country and people in the “backward” Ri Bhoi district have understood that BJP would bring about change and development.
BJP’s priorities are resolving the long-pending boundary issue, upgrade roads, water supply, electrification, education, setting up hospitals and agricultural development, he added.
