NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee chief D.D Lapang will meet the central leadership in Delhi on Monday to discuss the recent developments in the State, sources in the AICC said here on Sunday.
Lapang will submit his report on belligerent minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, who has been accused of anti-party activities.
Dhar is planning to field his brother-in-law from Jowai constituency for the 2018 elections and has publicly announced his support for him.
The Assembly seat is currently represented by senior Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister Roytre C. Laloo.
The Jowai Block Congress Committee complained to the State leadership against Dhar and sought his removal from the Cabinet post.
The meeting with AICC has been scheduled even before the West Jaintia Hills district unit of the party submitted its report.
AICC in consultation with both the leaders will finalise its action plan.
Sangma, who was in Belgium, will return on Monday morning.
Shillong MP Vincent Pala, against whom Dhar had campaigned during the Lok Sabha polls, and AICC general secretary C.P Joshi will also be consulted.
