Guwahati: Stating that last year’s Haj pilgrimage was one of highlights of the first year of the State Government where all pilgrims visiting the holy Mecca from the state were provided adequate facilities, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday directed the Minority Welfare and Development Department to start preparation for this year’s Haj pilgrimage.

He said this while taking part in the review meeting of the department here. Directing the department to liaise with the Union Ministry for Minority Affairs regarding all issues of Haj pilgrims from the state.

Sonowal said the government is committed to equal development of all sections of the society and ‘sabka sath sabka vikash’ would not be possible without looking after the concerns of all sections of the people. (UNI)
