NEW DELHI: Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president DD Lapang will meet AICC General Secretary C.P Joshi to discuss the recent political developments in the State, especially in the wake of complaints against Power Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar for anti-party activities.
Lapang had a meeting with Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Monday night as well as Tuesday morning. Both Sangma, who cancelled his flight to come back to Meghalaya on Tuesday, and Lapang are in Delhi for meetings with AICC leaders.
The chief minister may come back to the Shillong on Wednesday.
Dhar, who wants to support his brother-in-law from Jowai constituency instead of veteran leader and five-time legislator R.C Laloo, received a show cause notice from the party’s disciplinary committee on Monday. The minister said he would reply to it shortly.
