Facilitation centre to ease pending cases

SHILLONG: The large number of cases pending in courts is a major challenge in the access to justice, the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills PS Dkhar has said that the Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice will introduce the District Facilitation Centers (DFCs) in the District, where a large number of cases are pending. According to the Deputy Commissioner, the Department of Justice invites application from retired judicial/executive officer with legal background for filling up of position of Nyaya Mitra to head District Facilitation Centers under the Ministry of Law and Justice. The Nyaya Mitra will perform a consultative and facilitating role to devise effective ways to reduce pendency of cases in various courts and to assist litigants in need of legal aid, Dkhar added. The statement further added that interested eligible persons may apply online by visiting http:// www.nyayamitra.co.in. The last date for online submission of application is May 31 and any clarifications applicants may contact the following telephone nos. 011-23074401 and 23385332.
