MeECL casual worker found dead
SHILLONG: Banlongbha War (42), a casual labourer of MeECL, was found dead inside his quarter at Byrnihat on Tuesday.

1 dies after truck falls into gorge
SHILLONG: A truck fell into a gorge at Sonapur, NH-6 in East Jaintia Hills. This resulted in the death of Biswajit Sinha, who was the handyman. The truck (AS-16-4651) was driven by Raju Sinha.

Acid attack attempt on landlord
SHILLONG: Aziz Sheik lodged a complaint against Amir Hussain, a tenant who had rented his house in Sakmal village, West Garo Hills, for the past two years. The complainant had asked Hussain to vacate the house but Hussain tried to assault him with acid and threatened him with dire consequences.

Theft at Arts & Culture Dept
SHILLONG: Unknown miscreants broke into the Arts & Culture Department office in the city on Saturday and fled with one monitor and UPS.
