SHILLONG: In a boost to the North Shillong Block Congress, several BJP and KHNAM members joined the party on Thursday.
In this regard, the North Shillong Block Congress Committee held a meeting at Congress Bhavan to welcome them.
The Congress said on Thursday that more than 100 new members joined the party. Prominent amongst them are Lurshai Lyngwa, former BJP member and former joint secretary of KHNAM central body and his supporters, Gilbert Dkhar former Finance Secretary State Youth Wing of KHNAM, James S Malngiang, former president of KHNAM Mawkhar Unit and their supporters.
Laslarton Lyngdoh who was a former BJP candidate from Mawkhar, and Herbert Marwein from Jaiaw also formally joined the party.
Heath Minister and local MLA, Roshan Warjri, MPCC working president James S Lyngdoh, Legal Advisor MPCC WHD Syngkon were also present. The meeting was presided over by Manbor S Warjri, president North Shillong BCC.
