Probe demanded into Manipur woman’s killing

SHILLONG: The North-East Forum for Interna-tional Solidarity (NEFIS) held a candlelight vigil for the recent incident of shooting of a woman, Arambam Shanti, in Moreh town of Manipur.
NEFIS has also submitted a letter to the President demanding an investigation by an indep-endent team be ordered into the case, the forum said in a statement.
On May 22, two masked men on a bike killed Shanti. The shooting took place near an Assam Rifles camp.
“According to an eyewitness… an Assam Rifles Gypsy was seen parked at a short distance from the spot of the killing,” the statement said.
