FKJGP asks Mukul to halt railway construction

SHILLONG: The FKJGP central body has urged Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to put on hold the construction of Byrnihat-Ronghana railway line until the entry and exit point are fully operational.
In a letter to Sangma, FKJGP leader Wellbirth Rani stated that work for the proposed railway line should be halted until implementation of a comprehensive mechanism to tackle influx of illegal migrants.
The FKJGP also urged the chief minister to consider the release of KSU members arrested for protests over the railway construction.
