SHILLONG: BJP has denied the reports that around 5,000 workers have left the party in Garo Hills.
BJP State president Shibun Lyngdoh said on Saturday that Yuva Morcha’s Tura president is the ‘right hand of Bernard Marak’ and they could not even enroll sufficient members in the district and mandal committees.
“So from where did 5,000 members come,” he asked.
Earlier, BJP Youth Wing president of Tura city Wilver Greham Danggo, who also resigned, had claimed that other party workers resigned over the rules related to cattle slaughter.
He had also said five BJP mandal committees were dissolved on the issue.
This was following the resignation of BJP functionaries Bachu Marak and Bernard Marak.
