SHILLONG: Following the recent two scuffle cases of traffic police personnel and armed forces, the East Khasi Hills police has directed its traffic personnel to make a GD entry and submit a report if there is an assault on them.
SP Davis Marak said that the police will take up case against any individual who assaults the traffic cops on duty after the submission of the report by them.
Recently, a traffic cop and a BSF man landed into a scuffle after a drunk BSF man threatened and challenged home guard in Dhanketi.
Prior to that, a traffic cop at Malki was also manhandled by Army personnel after whom they were gheraoed by the public.
Marak informed that as far as the incident in Malki is concerned, police received a request from Army, where they said that they will take up action against the accused army personnel on their own, after which the case was handed over to the Military police.
The SP also said that the scuffle at Dhankheti point was a minor scuffle and the BSF personnel later apologised to the police.
He also said that they were not informed about the incident and it was only through the social media they found out.
