KSU leaders in judicial custody

NONGPOH: The arrested leaders of the Khasi Students’ Union were forwarded to judicial custody on Monday.
KSU’s North Khasi Hills district unit president Ferdynald Kharkamni and assistant secretary of the central body Sunstar Nongkhlaw have already completed 15 days in police custody and two days in judicial custody.
The District Court of E. Shabong in Nongpoh gave five days of judicial custody to the duo based on the three FIRs filed by police, the railways and the district administration for the attack at the project site at Ronghona on May 27.
Three others, Jayand Sylliang, Sabathani Lyngdoh and Johny Nongrum, were forwarded to judicial custody for 14 days on Sunday after completing 13 days in police custody.
One more KSU member, Oris Thabah, who is president of the KSU Marbah unit, was remanded in police custody for three more days. He already spent three days in police remand.
