SHILLONG: NCP national secretary Narendra Verma will visit Shillong this weekend to prepare the party for the 2018 Assembly polls.
NCP state president and South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai said on Wednesday that Verma, who is in charge of the northeastern states, will hold meetings with state party functionaries during his visit. He will assess the preparedness of the party for the upcoming polls.
Shullai, however, was tightlipped when asked about the rumours that he was planning to join BJP.
Earlier, Shullai had downplayed his meeting with Assam BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli during their visit to the state capital.
