NONGPOH: The Ri Bhoi Youth Council (RBYC) central body has extended its support to the Ri Bhoi Students Union (RBSU) demand for setting up a government college in Ri Bhoi.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the RBYC expressed its concern over the “apathetic attitude” of the chief minister towards the demand for a government college in the district.
“The Ri Bhoi Students Union had been fighting for a government college in the district for eight years now but the indifferent attitude of the present chief minister (Mukul Sangma) did not help the cause,” the RBYC said adding that it will soon hold a joint meeting with RBSU to put pressure on the government to fulfill the demand.
