SHILLONG: Cabinet Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said on Thursday that he is eagerly waiting for a response from the Congress regarding the allegations against him that he had resorted to anti-party activities.
Dhar said that he was yet to receive any response from the Congress party after the disciplinary committee submitted its report both to AICC and MPCC.
Recently, AICC general secretary in charge of Meghalaya C.P Joshi said it is up to MPCC president D.D Lapang to deal with the matter.
The disciplinary committee did not recommend dropping the minister from the Cabinet as this was not under the purview of the committee and it was the prerogative of the chief minister.
The Jowai Block Congress Committee had sought action against Dhar, including dropping him from the ministry, for supporting his brother-in-law to seek party ticket from the Congress from Jowai that is currently represented by Deputy Chief Minister R.C Laloo.
Dhar had made it clear that there was nothing wrong for anyone to apply for party ticket and this does not mean that he was resorting to anti-party activities.
