SHILLONG: The Centre did not take the State into confidence before initiating talks with the A’chik National Volunteer Council (ANVC) in 2014, said Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Thursday.
“We don’t want to commit the same mistake again,” he said and added that the State is “in a mess” because the Centre held talks with ANVC and NSCN without the knowledge of local political leaders.
Asked about UALA that was invited for talks by the State, he said the rebels were asked to surrender and they surrendered and even GNLA and HNLC can surrender.
