Diane Kruger to star in Robert Zemeckis’ new film

Los Angeles, Jun 17 (PTI) Actress Diane Kruger has joined Steve Carell in Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming film, which will be based on award-winning documentary “Marwencol” The 40-year-old actress, who recently won the best actress award at Cannes for starring in a German revenge drama “In the Fade”, will play Deja Thoris, the Belgin witch of Marwen, who revives Carell’s alter ego every time he is killed by Nazis, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Zemeckis co-wrote the screenplay with Caroline Thompson. He is also producing via his Universal-based ImageMovers, along with Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey, as well as Cherylanne Martin. The film will also feature Janelle Monae and Leslie Mann. PTI
