Tsering takes charge as CS

SHILLONG: With the appointment of K.S Kropha as the Chairman of Administrative Reforms, the next senior most IAS officer, Y. Tsering, assumed office on Monday as the new chief secretary.
Tsering will also function as the State Vigilance Commissioner.
Kropha’s new assignment is following the charge-sheet in the coal scam case.
The government has also effected minor bureaucratic reshuffle.
The order says besides holding charge of the existing departments, Additional Chief Secretary P.W Ingty will also hold charge of the Sports and Youth Affairs and the Health and Family Welfare departments.
F.R Kharkongor, who is currently the Chief Electoral Officer, has been relieved of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Principal Secretary R.M Mishra, who was relieved of the Programme Implementation and Evaluation Department, will hold charge of the Mining and Geology Department, besides other departments which he is currently holding.
Commissioner and Secretary P. Sampath Kumar will now hold the charge of the Programme Implementation and Evaluation Department.
M.R Synrem, Secretary, Soil and Water Conservation and Tourism, will also hold the charge as Secretary, Information and Public Relations.
