Former school secretary accused of bribery

TURA: The former secretary of Renigre SSA LP School under Dadenggre sub-division in West Garo Hills has been accused of taking bribes from two persons against their appointment as teachers in 2010.
The publicity secretary of All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA), Tronament D. Sangma, who made the accusation, claimed that then secretary Rawin M. Marak took bribe of Rs 75,000 from Elora D. Sangma and Rs 1 lakh from Jedin M. Marak.
According to Sangma, the matter was revealed by the two teachers after the school failed to release their pending dues.
It may be mentioned that Rawin is no longer the secretary and Abdul Batein Sheik has been appointed in his place as the head cum secretary in 2016.
