SHILLONG: Shillong police has issued a hue and cry notice along with a sketch of the miscreant who had cut the finger and ears of a woman and robbed her of ornaments in Smit last week.
The hue and cry notice was issued to the IGP (CID), Guwahati, Assam, IGP (CID), Agartala and IGP (CID), Manipur.
The sketch was made by police artistes and as per the cops the accused seems to be below 30 years of age.
“The accused has short and thick hair and sunken cheeks,” police sources said.
The elderly woman in Smit village was seriously injured after the miscreant cut her finger and ears to rob her of the ornaments when she was alone at home. The accused acting as a vendor selling plastic buckets inflicted deep cuts on the woman, Ialinda Warshong.
Shillong police in the hue and cry notice has asked its counterparts to circulate the same among its field formations for maintaining sharp look out in their respective jurisdictions.
