Misappropriation in Baghmara Municipal Board

SHILLONG: A case of alleged misappropriation has been unearthed in Baghmara Municipal Board.
A. Ch Marak, CEO, Baghmara Municipal Board (SGH) lodged a complaint that one Robert T Sangma, Accountant-cum-Enforcement Officer, Baghmara Municipal Board, fraudulently withdrew central funds granted under NULM-SJSRY, State Grant-in-Aid funds, etc., of Baghmara Municipal Board amounting to Rs. 8,95,348 for the year 2013-2014.
On the other hand, Robert T Sangma of Dopakram Baghmara also lodged a complaint that Manager of NULM, Executive Officer of BMB-cum-CPO has withdrawn NULM Fund amounting to Rs. 8,90,062.
When contacted, South Garo Hills SP Abraham T Sangma said that police are investigating into the matter.
In addition, an internal inquiry of the Board has been constituted.
