MLA supporters ask CS to probe into West Shillong scam

SHILLONG: Former supporters of West Shillong legislator Paul Lyngdoh have once again approached the Chief Secretary, Y Tsering demanding an investigation into the alleged misappropriation of around Rs 73 lakh in the West Shillong constituency.
Michael Pakyntein, on Friday, submitted a letter reminding about the FIR, which was filed earlier with the former Chief Secretary K.S. Kropa, over the alleged misappropriation.
The individual also asked the Chief Secretary to investigate the involvement of Danny Olson Syiem, Syiem Enterprise and other individual besides taking strong action against them as per the FIR.
Earier, Pakyntein, after quoting an RTI report had alleged that the materials worth Rs 74 lakh were purchased from Syiem’s Enterprise under the Special Urban Works Programme (SUWP).
According to Pakyntein, the owner of Syiem’s Enterprise, Danny Olson Syiem, is a Lower Division Assistant in the Directorate of Information and Public Relations.
