TURA: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi has clarified on the photo of a littered Dikki Bandi Stadium in Tura following the VEC conference, which appeared in this paper on June 30.
The photo which was contributed by a concerned citizen had shown the stadium strewn with thermocol plates and water bottles left behind by VEC functionaries who came to participate in the programme.
Bakshi in his clarification informed that although appeals were made to keep the used plates and bottles in cardboard dustbins kept at different places, the participants had carelessly dropped them in the field and left. Bakshi however added that the cleanup of the ground was completed by the Tura Municipal Board (TMB) by 6 am the next morning.
