No clue about TA soldier who decamped with rifle in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 7 (UNI) There was still no clue about a soldier of Territorial Army (TA) who decamped with a weapon and magazines in north Kashmir district of Baramulla 24 hours ago. Meanwhile, a senior Army officer said though it was a cause of concern but the vast Army family is strong enough to deal with such small things. Soldier Zahoor Ahmad Thokar decamped with one AK rifle and some magazines from a camp in Baramulla during the intervening night of July 5 and 6. However, an alert was sounded and a massive hunt launched to nab the soldier, a resident of Pulwama in south Kashmir. There was still no clue though security forces and state police personnel had put up road blocks and are checking vehicles in the valley. Army officer on the sideline of a function Wullar area of Bandipora district said that it was a cause of concern. ”We are taking steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future”, he said.
