Agitation disrupts train services under NF Railway

GUWAHATI: Trains services under Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) have been severely affected because of  `rail roko’ agitation called by All Assam Koch Rajbanogshi Students’ Union (AAKRASU) from 5 A.M. on Monday to press for their demand for a separate Kamatapur state. The disruption has caused tremendous inconvenience to the commuters.

The agitation has forced the NFR authority to control several Up as well as Down trains as mentioned here:

Down TRAINS

1. 09306 Guwahati-Indore special controlled at New Bongaigaon from 08-50 hrs.
2. 12423 Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express controlled at New Bongaigaon from 09-45 hrs.
3. 12510 Guwahati – Bangalore Express controlled at New Bongaigaon from 10.10 hrs
4. 15960 Dibrugarh – Howrah Kamrup Express controlled at Barpeta road from 10.22 hrs.
5. 15620 Kamakhya – Gaya Express controlled at Goalpara Town from 09-24 hrs.
6. 12505 Guwahati – Anand Vihar North East Express controlled at Nalbari.
7. 15636 Guwahati – Okha Express will be controlled at Rangiya.
8. 14055 Dibrugarh – Delhi Brahmaputra Mail will be controlled Rangiya.

Up TRAINS

1. 15654 Jammu Tawai – Guwahati Amarnath Express controlled at Falakata from 07-24 hrs.
2. 15635 Okha – Guwahati Express controlled at New coochbehar from 07-35hrs.
3. 12345 Howrah – Guwahati Saraighat Express controlled at New Coochbehar from 06-00 hrs.
4. 15645 Lokmanya tilak – Guwahati Express controlled at New Alipurduar from 05-13 hrs.
5. 15959 Howrah – Dibrugarh Kamrup Express controlled at New Jalpaiguri from 06-15 hrs.
6. 12517 Kolkata-Guwahati Garibrath Express controlled at New Jalpaiguri.
7. 12551 Yesvantpur – Kamakhya AC Express controlled at New Jalpaiguri
8. 14056 Delhi – Dibrugarh Brahmaputra Mail controlled at Aluabari from 08-20 hrs.
9. 13248 Rajendranagar-Guwahati Capital Express will be controlled at Alipurduar Jn
10. 12436 New Delhi – Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express is controlled at Katihar from 09-10 hrs
11. 12424 New Delhi – Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express will be controlled over Katihar Division

Meanwhile, due to Tripura Bandh called by the Indigenous People Forum  of Tripura (IPFT)  15659 Sealdah – Agartala- Kanchanjungha Express will be short terminated at Badarpur in Silchar of South Assam, the NFR authority informed.

According to the latest report, the AAKRASU has called off  it 12-hour `rail roko’ agitation mid-way on Monday after Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal agreed to meet a delegation of the organisation on July 17 next.
